Let's Make A "Pittsburgh Cheese Steak Sandwich" You got it!

Hello again to all you Foodies out there is Webland.  Hope all is well with you.  Well the Steelers are headed to the Super Bowl this year so let's talk about how to make a "Pittsburgh Cheese Steak Sandwich".  All I've ever heard of is about that other sandwich from a city in the same state.  I had a customer come into the Cafe and sent me to a site that talks about the Pittsburgh sandwich.  She insisted that this is the sandwich to eat.  Any who I cooked this on Monday for my Cooking show. I hope you give it a try and also have fun all you Super Bowl Partiers out there and please don't forget the FOOD!

"Pittsburgh Cheese Steak Sandwich"

Meat

1 1/2 pounds Beef
1/2 pound Pork or Veal
4 gloves Garlic chopped
1 1/2 teas. onion and garlic powder
1 T. Mrs's Dash's
1/2 onion chopped
1/2 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup Ketchup
1 cup Bread Crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
Salt and Pepper to taste
Ketchup for top

Mix all ingredients, top with some ketchup and bake on about 350 degrees covered for about an hour.  Then uncover meat and bake another 15 min's. or until done.  Cool.

6 Hoagie Buns Toasted
Provolone Cheese
1 Banana Pepper cut
1 Onion cut in rings
1 Bell Pepper cut in rings
4 gloves Garlic, chopped
Salt and Pepper
Olive Oil

Place oil in pan and cook until onions, garlic, and pepper's are clear in color.  Let meat cool down and cut in about 2 " slices then brown in a pan with alittle oil.  Toast buns, cut lengthwise, place meat on buns, top with onion mixture, and top with cheese and toast till cheese is melted.  Hot peppers are good on top as well.

I hope you give this recipe a try and enjoy your Super Bowl day and let's not forget the FOOD!  Write me and let me know how you like this recipe.  Happy Trails to you and yours until we meet again.  Eileen Hutson, madjon, madjon51@aol.com.
